object/female

This installation and it's live element aim to explore issues of power and control in society, particularly in relation to gender. Two CCTV monitors track the artist's movements, offering the viewer clues as to her whereabouts, under the gallery floor. The artist's awareness of her viewers is limited to their footsteps, voices and glimpses she gets from her location.

Object/Female was commissioned by DASh as part of Outside In. It was created in collaboration with, and exhibited at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, using objects from the gallery archive's collection.
